The fascination of mystery and of the underground, the rediscovery of a patrimony and the desire of finding again the lost settlement of the mine hided under our village and quickly sealed up in 1964,drive, in the 80s, to the reopening of the inclined shaft Fanante.

That allowed to organize speleological inquires aimed at monitoring the underground, in order to get a sense of the state of stability of the mine , finalized to a future reopening with a touristic and scientific purpose. The danger of the situation, the total absence of safety connected to several collapses and the lack of airing that leads to a low level of oxygen and to a huge amount of toxic gas, limited the inquires to a few meters of gallery. The mine is still a strong desire, ambition and tenaciousness remain in order to let us hope to the possibility to find a way to make the underground safe.
